What makes a great home

A great dachshund home prioritizes spinal safety by utilizing pet ramps for furniture, blocking stairs with safety gates, and adding rugs to prevent slipping on slick floors. Because they are expert diggers and avid burrowers, a secure yard with deep fencing and plenty of indoor blankets for tunneling are essential to satisfy their natural instincts.

Additionally, these dogs thrive best in households with consistent, patient boundaries and plenty of human companionship to ease their separation anxiety. If children are present, they must be taught to handle the dog horizontally, supporting both the chest and rear, to prevent dangerous back injuries.

Visits and pickup

We encourage in-person visits after the puppies are 4 weeks old. We will follow sanitary protocols, as their immune systems are not yet fully developed. I do not allow young children to handle the puppies; please don't ask or be offended when I say no.
